On page 9 of "NEW YORK SUBWAY CARS" by James Clifford Greller, mention is made of the "IDENTRA" train describer loops. It says that these were installed on the R12/14s/15s in 1958. The text states that these loops automatically changed station signs along the Flushing line. Does anybody recall this and how it worked?? I have seen pics of some of the Flushing cars equipped with these loops (including a WF Bluebird), but I always assumed these "loops" were two-way radio antennae. Thanks in advance...this has me stumped.
