The Identra coils used on the TTC were introduced in 1966 and have a lot more than five settings but I can't remember how many there were. I'll take a look at one tomorrow morning on the way to work. They only use two of them these days and then only on a limited basis. Also, the coils used by the TTC are completely passive - they don't have the wire shown in the picture. To change the selection, the train's driver has to insert a standard TTC key into the rotating switch on the coil and crank it to the letter representing the selection they wanted.
