Well, the only thing I can tell you is if there is a way you could get ahold of the ERA's "Bulletin" Archives, you can search that time period and see for yourself. The "Bulletin" is an extremely good source for every nook and cranny of the transit system. They don't miss nothing. So if they have it in there, then those were the R40 slants that I must have missed and thus I am wrong.

However, if you don't see anything about the graffiti-cleaned blue door R40 slants, then I am right. But the TA did paint the a/c R40s with grey doors inside and out. I know this personally because I used to ride them.
