And I remembered about the "double-decker" tunnel under NH Ave. Creative design indeed. I'd like to see them do that again. Outbound's the top layer, yes?

BTW, John... have you any idea where else there's enough tangent easement to add pockets?

There is no place between Van Ness (A06) and Medical Center (A10) where the grade are less then .035 percent, there is to much curvature between National Airport (C10) and Stadium-Armory (D08) with the exception of the tunnels east of Eastern Market (D06) there might be enough room between Waterfront (F04) and Navy Yard (F05) south of Navy Yard (F05) there is to much vertical and horizontal curvature. Surface segment are another story.
