Padron on Mon Sep 22 17:43:11 2003, in response to Re: R10 Questions (#3138), Oh, yes, so that I remember IND R-10 car #3138 and IRT R-14 car #5952, each having the experimental "fish-gill" vents on each of the side doors, which were an add-on to those cars in the fall of 1950 by the Board of Transportation. #5952 lost all its vents to be replaced by the regular standard side door glass panes a few years before its retirement in 1984, while #3138 had its vents removed and replace with the standard glass panes in June 1986.
