BTW saw 2 accidents in a row in Greenvale. A car coming out of a shopping center broadsided a van in the southbound lanes of Glen Cove rd just north of 25A. The police never showed up, and because no one was directing traffic around the disabled van, there was another accident just behind it, a car plowed into an SUV and the whole hood of the car was folded up like an accordian.
Still no Nassau PD on the scene, saw one police car pass by but did not stop at the scene, they kept going!. This is while I was waiting about 20 min for the N27 bus. If you think the NYPD is bad, Nassau PD is worse.

Suffolk P.D. would do the opposite. They'd dispatch four or even five units to the scene even though just one could handle it. And it's not as if all the cops would be directing traffic, either; as you saw in Nassau, traffic would be backed up hopelessly.
