I remember when the B23 was a trolley bus route in the 1950's. My recollection of it then was that it ran fairly frequently and had decent ridership. While it wasn't the last trolley bus route to be converted to bus (that was probably the B45, B47, B57 and/or B65), it was probably within a few years of the trolley bus's disappearance in NYC. I don't remember when ridership took the nosedive it apparently did.
