Agreed, but we all have different tollerance to risk. I give little thought to my daily commute into the city while my wife refuses to "Go there" for dinner or a show. I think that railfans need to be mindful that the majority of the populace want to feel secure in their daily commute. They don't mond if the police chase a few camera-toting railbuffs as long as they feel safer. Are they safer? Obviously not but at 75 MPH Johnny Q-tip standing on the ROW with a camera may look like a mini-terrorist to a LIRR engineer. He has every right to call it in and the police have the obligation to investigate it. That is unless you believe that the railfan's right to take pictures supersedes the right of the commuter to feel secure in his/her daily commute.
