Just as a correction Dave, the 28 Street and 51 St scenes were done at Hoyt-Schemerhorn station. Grand Central Tower was at Court Street Tower, wouldn't interfere with other trains in operation. Court Street station was never really used for platform scenes. Only the scene with Caz and the plumber was at Court Street along with the run-by shots of the train at the crossover east of Court Street. The 23 St station is the real one that Pelham 1-2-3 passes. The arched tunnel scene with the runaway train is on the Uptown Express tracks heading towards Grand Central. Passengers coming out of tunnel was Hoyt-Schemerhorn. Dead giveaway is that same location was used in Beat Street when Kenny and Tracey duck an oncoming train diverging to our right. Second, no tower windows in the tunnel or station platform, just tiles. The switch is close to the platform. Court Street crossover is further away from the platform because of the tower and other closets and storage space down there. So the switch you see is the one that C trains use everyday to reach Manhattan.

Jimmy
