Ah, good ol' PS 85! Started kindergarten there in Sept. 1965, graduated 6th grade in June, 1972. Remember 2nd grade very well, in room 107 which was on a level with the el structure. It was during this time when the service switched from the QB/QT/T to the RR. I was so used to seeing 'Coney Island' signs on the trains (lit up in green, mind you), that I had to really wonder, where the heck is 95th St./4th Ave.? One car that always caught my eye when it went by was R-27 #8111, of which I own a number plate from. I didn't think anyone else on this board went to 85, nice to know this!
