It's not riders they lost, it's fares. (If you swiped your card 300 times at that station, 300 of those "fares" are yours).
Assuming that most of them are regular workers. The number of passengers lost is much less. You can probably divide that number by the number of workdays in a year, and that will give you an estimate of the riders lost. (of course that's assuming that all the lost passengers used the station every workday, and only regular commuters - it's not an exact science though).
