[ Read Responses | Post a New Response | Return to the Index ] Posted by JPC on Sat Jul 24 09:13:13 2004, in response to Re: Ham Radio - Sundays Mod trip, The trouble is, 6m on an HT is never quite what you want. 6m is all about DX, and for that you want a proper antenna (minimum, a 1/4 wave vertical, or a resonant loop), a goodly amount of power, and SSB/CW capabilities. 6m FM is fine lor local if you've got repeaters (and we have a few around here, though very few compared to 2m and 440 - I think 1270 has about as many repeaters as 6m here), but the antenna limitation still remains.
