Are you sure you didn't change your time of travel? Before I retired from the NYPD 2 years ago I used to take Bushwick from the Interborough Pkway to Gates Av every day to work for years. I did mostly 3x11's and would go down Bushwick around 2:30 PM (1430hrs). The lights always changed at the exact same time for each block. I would make it from the Interborough to Gates with 3 stops. However whenever I had to do a day tour and went at 7AM in the morning the lights were always staggered and you could make it from the Interborough to Gates without stopping.
Of course, in the afternoon there would sometimes be a light out of whack and be the opposite of the others and that would cause a massive traffic jam all the way to the Interborough.
