That's why I put "mistake" in quotes. Of course it was not a literal mistake, and they were done correctly for the period they were built in. What they did in the 90's though makes the stations match all the others on their respective lines. They now fit, so it wasn't literally a "mistake", but the stations today actually are more fitting to their lines than they were when new with the mosaics at 8th and the Grecian Design at Fulton and Broadd (and now Essex too).
