Oh, and just to add, the older grafittied R40's in the photos you had exterior blue doors, but IINM, the interiors were not. They were orange, aqua green, or gray. In the 1986 "blue-dooring", the exterior and the interior got those dark blue doors.
While they had dark blue interior doors, they were graffiti free.
