Why would they mix a scene to the rear of an IRT statio with a scene to the front of an IND station? It seems unnecessary, unless they wanted to avoid an obvious visual giveaway that is inconsistent with the plot (but props usually fix that).
At an IND station, they could even have erected styrofoam columns that, in a movie camera, would look like the real thing.
