If you join the Branford museum, and chip in for a charter of 1689, you CAN become a "guest operator" under supervision and run one yourself ... while it's not quite the same as 10 cars on Central Park West, it's certainly a "hands-on" experience of a lifetime. :)

After 30+ years away from running them, it was a treat for me last time I was there.
