Inability for artics to make u turns at City Island Ave had nothing to do with it. It was supposed to improve bus service to City Island by using a dedicated route to the nearest subway (Pelham Park Park on the 6), and shorten the Bx12 route to some degree. But, the consequence was losing 24/7 bus service to the island at the same time, since the Bx29 does not run between 12:30-5:30 AM (1 AM on Friday and Saturday nights.)
