Yet, look at how MTA NYC Transit seems to have its own R-1/4/7A unit train, including the reborn #401, now up and running with no problems at all today. It you makes one wonders that a private outfit like R.P.C. must feel a bit red-faced and unpleasantly uncomfortable that most of their own fleet of cars could have never be used now as a consideration for the M.O.D. excursions or any other fantrips they were hoping to be on.

I don't know anything specific about the R.P.C.'s finances, but chances are they're on a limited budget. The MTA has much greater resources to draw upon.
