I took that picture sometime in 1990. It was the only one to get cut up for scrap inside SBK facilities instead of the float to Naporano Iron and metals. If I recall the side sign lighting configuration, the center route box between door panels 4/5 and 12/13 were route boxes. Going upstream to the double sign boxes was North destination and South Destination, most of the signs had the same destinations when the nylon signs were fabed by Bergen Sign shops. The cloth ones on the GE R10s in the late '80s were North destination on the left and South on the right looking from the exterior. Most had green DC railway tubes which could light by installing the fuses they removed to save the dough on ballasts, resistors and bulbs.
