It was a photo of one to be delivered to MARTA (Atlanta). MARTA was the first agency to get the 870. When they showed up in NYC I was thrilled. When they were taken out of service to be retrofitted I thought that was the worst thing. Little did I know the TA (in it's infinite wisdom) would later get rid of them. I was just starting High School and luckily I had a bus pass - so many days after school I ride the buses in The Bronx and upper Manhattan. When the Grummans were being repaired I often rode AMS routes because they had many of the borrowed WMATA buses. When you rode the WMATA buses... it was very clear that NYCTA buses were in horrible condition. Responses
