My favorite of that series was #854. Not long before MSBA scrapped it in 1997, it had been completely refurbished, with new paint, a rebuilt transmission, and the a/c actually WORKED! Originally, buses #850-875 were assigned to the Rockville Centre depot and buses #876-902 to the Mitchell Field Depot.
Does anyone out there besides me remember when MSBA had the 8 1/2 foot wide 1975 Flxibles from the city? They were white with a reddish-orange stripe. This was back in the early '80's.
