some of those 5500's series following the incident of the Verrazano Bridge did see work. they were assigned to Ulmer Park(though i do not remember which numbers though)-a few of them ever went to MSBA(now Long Island Bus)-it's amazing. The TA pulls them off express routes becasue of what happened and brooklyn gets them-go figure
